Migration to Companion

 

Pre-Migration

The Pre-Migration stage is meant for you to clean up your existing data within your current v7.1 software.  This stage may take a few weeks for you to complete the cleansing and training required for all of your office staff.  

Steps to perform before your Initial Migration

    1. Migration Project Document

    The Migration Project document was created to help you plan and perform the steps throughout the migration process.  Keep your guide close by as you will want to refer back to it on a regular basis.

  • Download Migration Project Documentation.  Click here to download PDF file.
  • 2. Premigration Program

    Refer to Pages 8-11 of the Migration Project document.
    The Premigration program will help you clean up your existing data within your current v7.1 software.

  • Download Premigration Program.  Click here to download.
    Save the program file to your C:\ folder on one of your user’s workstation.
    The filename is: premigration.exe.
  • Run Premigration.  To run the program double-click the file: premigration.exe.
  • 3. Migration Initial Survey

    You must complete the Initial Survey before you can proceed to the next stage of the migration process.  Once you have completed the survey you will be emailed a link to the Initial Migration stage within the next two business days.

Initial Migration

The Initial Migration will convert your existing data and import it into the HomeTrak Companion software.  You will use this data as a learning tool for getting familiar with HomeTrak Companion and for evaluating and comparing the current system to the new system.

HomeTrak strives to maintain a high level of customer support however due to expected increased support usage with customers performing migrations.  We will not be able to provide you with instant training on such topics as an entire billing or payroll cycle as this would overwhelm the support staff and cause back logs.  We do encourage you to plan ahead and book training ahead of time only after the help system has been reviewed and you still need some extra help.  HomeTrak Companion is a free upgrade however each customer is entitled to a limited amount of customer support hours as per their contract and excessive customer support usage due to non compliance of our migration process and the recommended conversion steps may lead to extra customer support charges.
